As one does, last night I was browsing online at homes for sale that I can’t afford. I was using the Google Maps feature to get a sense of the neighborhood, and I noticed something interesting: one of the houses was completely blurred out on Google Maps.
This wasn’t the exact blur I saw, but it looked like this:
I did a little digging, and found out that you can actually request that Google Maps blur your house for privacy (or other, I suppose) reasons. These are the exact instructions on how to do it. And the instructions note, “Once Google blurs your home, the blur is permanent.”
