Hi Bots,
Everyone is always talking about their emails: getting them, staying on top of them, getting to Inbox Zero, failing to get to Inbox Zero, etc. But I always wonder: what do other’s people’s inboxes ACTUALLY look like?
Here is my actual inbox from my personal email on a randomly generated ate. If you’re feel nosy about someone else’s inbox, keep reading. If you are feeling nosy about your own, go look up November 3, 2020 (the random date generated for me to look up in mine) and see what you can find.
Happy peeking!
Person Whose Inbox We Are Peeking Into: Molly Beck (me)
Inbox: my personal one, mollyfordbeck@gmail.com
Length I’ve had it: Since late 2015, when I got married and needed an email address with my new last name
Total number of emails: 129,560 (as of 12/29/24)

So off I sailed to look at November 3, 2020!
I got 13 emails on that date. Which btw, was the 2020 presidential election day! This was their subject lines:
This is how they broke down:
5 emails were directly related to the election that day - 3 from newsletters, 2 from friends
4 emails from two different list servs/newsletters for people worked in podcasts/radio (related to my work at WorkPerfectly)
1 email was to my mom about a listing that had come up in my town for my “dream house” (we still do not live there lol)
1 was a Good Reads round-up
1 was my daily RO (Reach Out) I sent to a friend of a friend about how much I liked her book recommendation for Playing with Matches
1 was a calendar invite from my husband for a date/time that we needed to sit down and finish writing thank you notes (although for the life of me, I can’t figure out what major event we would have had in 2020 that meant we needed to write thank you notes - even more perplexing, the invite is for during the day when both of us would have been at work?)
And that is what I was doing in inbox on November 3, 2020. What were YOU doing?
