Ever since I learned that one of MrBeast’s first highly popular videos was a 23 hour monstrosity where he counted to 100,000, I’ve gotten interested in very long-form YouTube content, which I roughly define as anything over 2-3 hours.
I went down several long-video rabbit holes, including this Reddit thread, and the video that kept popping up as an example of great long-form content was a 4 hour video by Jenny Nicholson doing a deep dive into why Disney’s Star Wars Hotel failed.
So I watched it and it is SUCH a well-done video: highly researched, many behind-the-Mouse tidbits, and Jenny even stayed at the hotel as a guest where she took copious notes. She also talks extensively and shares her own insights about pricing and marketing strategy if you are interested in those things.
So if you need a long video to keep you company this weekend, dive into why the Star Wars hotel failed.

PS. If you’re not in the mood for a longer video, this 23 minute piece on “the Honey scam” was another video I couldn’t stop thinking about.
