Trying a new thing
Do you want to test it for me?
Hello, Beck on Tech-ers!
Social media has led to many wonderful things in my life. In my book I talk about how I met my four closest NYC friends on Twitter; my now-acquired company got many of its early customers on LinkedIn; I spent years doing Day in the Lifes on Instagram (to say nothing on the era where I reviewed fast food on TikTok).
I love social media and I want it to be a part of my life always!
So lately, as I’m starting to think about what could be my next entrepreneurial endeavor, I’ve been thinking about how I can help improve the social media industry.
Specifically:
how does AI slop ruin the experience of real people online?
how comfortable do I feel sharing my own data in exchange for “free” services?
why does everything feel so…. permeant and serious… on what is suppose to be my fun online break time connecting with my friends?
So one of my best friends and I have started a project that reimagines social media. About 50 people are currently testing it and providing feedback. We want to reach 100 daily active users before deciding whether to keep it a fun project, or turn it into a real company and devote more resources to it.
Are you interested in trying out our new project and giving feedback? Then please write back to this email and I’ll send over the link.
Here’s to trying new things… always!
Molly
